Frontier Japan logo II by arpad Frontier Japan logo II by arpad
More versions of the logo. Client liked version 1 but said: "t is a very elegant design and I very much like it. I have spoken to my team though and they agree that it is a little too elegant for us... we are more about pop culture, trends and the future rather than tradition and the past, so a gorgeous Japanese image like this is not quite who we are. I'm really sorry!"

Which one of these new versions do you prefer and why?
Thank you all for the support,

arpad

I really like version 4! I find it very creative! But I think you misspelled "insight" underneath it. Other than that, keep up the creativity!

I have worked with the japanese, and the ones that are all about pop culture (I have found) are easier to please than the traditional ones, you may want to keep that first logo safe ^_^

About the new ones, I like version 5 and 6.
Version 5:
Simple stylish and futuristic. Great colors and easy to manage, though it will get lost in translation with all the other japanese 'dot' logos.

Version 6:
Easy to read, to the point, great color choices and definately easy to manage. While being simple, it is also very futuristic and cool looking. I hope they choose this one out of them all
=D

Cheers

hey man.. i really like version 1.. what u could actually try is use a more "pop culture, trends and the future" kind type with the shape u got there.. it should be a good match of a japanese image yet keeping a pop culture/trendy image as he wants..
ps. not saying that dont show any of these, but u could add the suggestion as another option :)

anyhow out of the above.. i think v2, v4 and v6 look good.. great work

I very much enjoy looking at your work, and I must say I needed to in order to regain some inspiration. Anyway...I could see 2, 4 and 5 working well, seeing as 3 is way too pudgy and hard to make out to be effective, although an interesting type. v5 might be a bit stronger if the grey was as dark as the other logotypes, and maybe using a thinner font for japan (as in v4) might suit it more (seems a bit ridgid).

V2 has a great concept. It's a shame they didn't want to use the first logotype.

But that's just my thoughts. I'm not the amazing designer here =) Good work as always.

The technical part of me likes Version 3, but the professional part of me likes Version 4. Version 3 is effective in that the logo, as well as the typography, is instantly recognisable. Though version 4 looks a lot cleaner, and therefore my imagination tells me it would more likely be seen in industry.

Completely cut between the two!

The first logo reminds me of the Yamaha logo. Those fussy clients. This is what puts me off designing work for people. Design is soo enjoyable when you are designing for yourself. Wicked designs though. This is right up my street.

I like #6 because it conveys to me the idea of new things but also a bit of Japan, and because it seems to fit with the Frontier thing. It's also simple, elegant, and recognizable.

gorgeous logos. i like specially the first two, and though i doen't really know the concept behind, from those i prefer the first one presented. It seem to me that one got more strutural basic to develop and to stand out there. ;)

That are some nice logos! I think V4 would fit the best for the company, since they say that it's about the pop culture and trends.

In a way they all seem to give off different ideas about the company though from what I understood from their views version3 seems to be the closest one that could actually pull through their ideas. They all are excellent pieces, aesthetically pleasing, to the point design, and relatively innovative.

Hope this works out arpad and that I've aided you in some way!

If the clients seems v1 is too elegant, than the v6 is what they looking for. Definetely! (:

It's so pop, neat, technical, but still elegant.

i think the 'fj' comes out very nicely in version 3, but the font is really hard to read, especially the 't' is a bit disturbing.

my favourite is the 'fj' top right of version 4. even if danube is a bit overused. maybe mix that with the type of V2 (is it trade gothic?).

anyway, great work and good luck with your client!

Haven't thought of that, blending the danube-look-a-like with the Conduit type in v2. Thanks so much for your enlighting comment :)

Definitely the first one. It's got a "sci-fi" feel to it...sort of looking toward the future. It also has a techy feel to it...like they are scientists or something like that...creating stuff.

Eu gosto da v2. Acho que é uma versão elegante mas não demasiado. É simples mas harmoniosa. O logo interage bem com o texto. A v5 também me agrada. As outras acho-as um pouco caóticas :P

great designs Joao. I have some detailed feedback for the designs that you created.

i understand now why the client didn't like the previous designs although in the new designs the V2 looks more like a tele-communication company logo because hexagonal shapes are usually referred to as digital packets shape. The logo V3 seems good to me and I have a feeling that this is going to hit the bulls-eye as far as clients feedback is concerned because this logo has the pop-culture feel, its bold and incorporates the company initials creatively. The V4 also looks good to me but it has too much resemblance to the former Quark's logo (no offense please, it could be purely coincidence). The typography that you have done in design V6 is awesome just the F seems out of place. I think the middle line of the F needs to be tweaked to balance with the other letters. I will show you what I mean, please check your notes.

Overall you have done a good job, I see a lot of efforts are being put in this project by you and it made me share my views as well to help you in any way I can.
